It was a year of many firsts! From our inaugural Student Art Showcase to the debut of Illuminate LASD, our community came together in new and inspiring ways.
LAEF's annual grant helped the Los Altos School District (LASD) deliver a well-rounded learning experience for all TK-8 students by funding teachers and essential programs in our elementary and junior high schools.
Funding priorities for the annual grant were based on feedback from the LAEF parent survey and strategic discussions with LASD. Funds raised during the year were granted to and spent by the district in the same year.

LAEF is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. Tax ID #94-2862793.
LAEF is committed to accountability and transparency. We have earned the Candid Platinum Transparency seal, which is the highest level. We are a Four-Star Charity on Charity Navigator. We are audited annually and post our annual report, tax return, and grant allocation on our website. Our volunteer board members represent all LASD schools. We are funded by LASD parents and the greater community. Our operations rely heavily on volunteers who help keep our expenses low. For the 2025-26 school year, LAEF granted $3,050,000 to the Los Altos School District. The remaining amount raised funded the MVLA Parent Education Speaker Series Grant, as well as LAEF expenses, including office staff, credit card processing fees, postage, communications, the audit, and tax return preparation.
Looking forward to 2026-27, the LASD Education Partners have further strengthened their collaboration and realigned who funds what, creating clearer roles and simpler giving for families. Alongside the specialized teachers and programs you already know and love, LAEF will now be fundraising for instructional programs and materials previously funded by PTAs, while PTAs focus on community-building, volunteer engagement, and building school-specific enrichment activities.
