2020-21 Annual Report
Los Altos Educational Foundation
Los Altos Educational Foundation (LAEF) raises funds to sustain and enrich Los Altos School District's excellent educational program beyond what public funding provides.
"We are grateful for our strong and enduring partnership with LAEF and thank donors like you who supported us during uncertain times this past year. I am confident that with your support, our excellent Los Altos School District schools will continue to effectively teach and empower our students of all ages, and prepare them for success in high school and beyond.”
– Jeffrey Baier, LASD Superintendent
LAEf Funded Programs
LAEF’s annual grant helped the Los Altos School District (LASD) deliver a well-rounded learning experience for all TK-8 students by funding teachers and staff for STEM, Wellness, Literacy, and Arts in our elementary and junior high schools.
During the unique school year, LAEF's flexible grant also helped LASD to deliver essential programs both in-person and virtually, and to make adjustments as needed throughout the school year.
Funding priorities for the annual grant were based on feedback from the LAEF parent survey and through strategic discussions with LASD.

"As parents of three, we are entering our tenth year in the Los Altos School District. Some of the seminal experiences that my children have enjoyed during their time there have been directly due to LAEF funded teachers and programs."
– Kristen Gklaros-Stavropoulos, LASD Parent
"The subject I teach is music, but what I really teach is people. I teach students to work hard and persevere, to be respectful and kind, to care for and collaborate with others, and to make a beautiful world. I teach them to be moral humans and to make wise decisions so they can lead happy and fulfilling lives."
— Anne Spector, LASD junior high music teacher for 22 years
