LAEF Leadership MESSAGE

To our supporters, volunteers, and community members,

Thank you for your incredible partnership and dedication to the Los Altos Educational Foundation (LAEF). Your commitment ensures that we can continue our work supporting an excellent, well-rounded education for every student in the Los Altos School District (LASD). On behalf of the LAEF board and staff, we are thrilled to share the remarkable results of our collective efforts during the 2024-25 school year.
The 2024-25 school year was marked by significant achievements made possible by the strength and generosity of our community. At the beginning of the year, we endorsed Bond Measure EE, making a campaign contribution from our reserves to support its passage. The success of this measure will provide essential funding for our excellent neighborhood schools. We are proud to have played a part in this vital community effort.
Your support was truly inspiring. We are excited to announce that we exceeded our fundraising goal of $2.9 million, allowing us to provide an additional grant of $85,000 to the district. These funds directly enhanced programs for all TK-8th-grade students. Your generous contributions have a direct impact on essential programs that define the LASD experience, from music and arts to wellness and literacy.
Building on our spirit of innovation, this was a landmark year for new initiatives. We launched our new Deeper Learning Innovation Grants program, designed to fund creative and engaging educational opportunities for students. In another new venture, we began funding Living Classroom, bringing hands-on, nature-based science lessons to our elementary schools. Your support enabled LAEF and LASD to sustain and enrich educational programs that went beyond what public funding alone could provide.

A key strategic accomplishment this year was the formal approval of a Memorandum of Understanding between the LASD Board of Trustees and the LAEF Board of Directors. This agreement strengthens our longstanding partnership and clarifies our collaborative efforts to invest in our students and their futures. Our volunteer LAEF board, composed of 21 members representing each school in the district, remains deeply committed to preserving the excellent educational opportunities our families have come to expect.
We value you as partners in ensuring all LASD students receive an exceptional education, preparing them to achieve their highest potential and contribute to our vibrant community. We look forward to partnering with you again next year and appreciate your continued support.
With gratitude,
