ART

Trained art docents nurtured each child’s creativity through artistic expression and appreciation of art. Funding from LAEF helped Los Altos Art Docents offer a wide variety of lessons to TK-6th grade students. 722 art lessons were taught in classrooms last year. 98% of available art lessons were ordered by teachers for use in their classrooms. Students showcased their work at art shows. Each school has an art show bi-annually.
"The art program has been incredibly important for my two children, giving them the opportunity to explore a wide range of mediums, materials, and techniques under the guidance of a dedicated art teacher. Through this experience, they’ve not only developed artistic skills but also learned valuable lessons in creativity, patience, problem-solving, and self-expression. Their enthusiasm has even carried over into our home, where they’re eager to continue creating and sharing what they’ve learned. This program is truly a gift, especially at a time when many schools no longer offer comprehensive art education—it’s a vital part of their growth and development." – LASD Parent
LIVING CLASSROOM

This school year, funding from LAEF helped the Living Classroom program deliver 478 environmental lessons to 2,463 Transitional Kindergarten (TK) through 6th-grade students.100% of the elementary school teachers participated in the program, with 96% scheduling all of the lessons offered for their grade level.
